Hey ya'll from Audrey in England; WHAT IN THE WORLD AM I DOING HERE? Part 10. Saying Goodbye to Scargill

The Blue Badge means "Member of Community " at Scargill
and I was proud to be a temporary part of it for the last 6 weeks.

Today (Sunday July 8) was my final 24 hours at Scargill.  It was amazing.

For 6 weeks, I have been looking up at this mesmerizing view every day:

The sun hit the top pf the ridge when it came up behind me every morning...

and the sun set behind this ridge every night...

and the shadows changed as the clouds moved overhead.

So I decided that I needed to climb that mountain before I left.  Yesterday was the day.  It took about 1.5 hours to walk to the highest point.  And I was rewarded with this view:
Scargill Estate is the tiny gray spot in the distance above the rock wall...

It was a beautiful day and it seemed like I could see forever.

Wow.  I felt like I was on top of the world and I will never forget it.

Then, last night, my 6 weeks ended with a Scargill BBQ.
...Always fun.

And my last night ended with a walk into Kettlewell with a few Scargill friends for a parting drink.

This morning, Sunday, I heard that we were having communion in the walled garden.
I knew something special was in store...
This worship service was just for the Community.  It was sweet and the Spirit was close.  The sun was shining, the birds were singing, the flowers were moving in the breeze...it was pure gift, and I cried for the beauty of it and the love I had for all these wonderful people that I have been living with for the last 6 weeks.

Blest be the tie that binds
Our hearts in Christian love;
The fellowship of kindred minds
Is like to that above.
When we asunder part,
It gives us inward pain;
But we shall still be joined in heart,
And hope to meet again.

This has been a great experience.
At Scargill, I found an authentic Christian Community
of people from many countries around the world
learning to live and serve together,
working hard, having fun,
 sharing food,
Caring for each other and for the guests,
worshiping and praying together.
Because we all know that the Church is not a building.
It's the good people of all ages, nationalities, and backgrounds, that shine in this world.

THE CHURCH is the Community and all the beautiful guests that I met at Scargill.
It's the Hospitality of Christ.

Quality, Simplicity, Beauty.

Goodbye, sheep!
I'll be baaaaaaack!
Because you never really leave Scargill.
You always keep some of it in your heart.
Thanks, Ya'll for everything.  Keep up the good work.

Deep Peace to you till we meet again,
from Audrey from North  Carolina, USA.
